Now that I am at university, I've realized how much ISF paid off in the long-run and I want to thank you and all my teachers for what they have done for me. It was certainly a struggle with many worries to receive my high school diploma and AP's; nevertheless, almost 30 credits saving me 2 semesters at university really made me appreciate the effort it took to achieve these goals. In addition, I was extremely well prepared for college level work by ISF and so far got very good grades in all courses I took, which almost suprised me considering I was one of the students that had to study hard to achieve good grades in high school. Again, thank you and all other teachers that have taught me for their effort and influence on me!

It was a great visit. I hope you are terribly proud of that school. We saw the SABIS® educational system working on all cylinders... In the rooms we visited, across the grades, we saw consistently strong instruction delivered by able teachers who are deeply committed to the SABIS® methods, to the school, and to each other. We also saw perfect behavior throughout the day. We were amazed by the longevity of teachers there--several we met had been there nearly since the school opened--unheard of in charter schools, and persuasive evidence of the unique sustainability and scalability of the model.

SABIS^® schools seek to work collaboratively with parents and with the community at large. The goal is to encourage parents to take an interest in their child's school by participating in school activities, including parent conferences, academic and extracurricular programs, and special assemblies.

They also actively solicit feedback, strongly encouraging people to contact the school with their questions, suggestions, comments and concerns. Any problem is investigated thoroughly and objectively, and a solution is proposed and followed up on until the problem has been resolved.

With the aim of creating such a desirable environment and community for students and parents with the school, the SABIS^® Educational System includes a component for "Parent Connection" or "Parent Network" at each SABIS^® school. The Parent Connection/Network helps to facilitate communication between the school and parents as well as helps to make the school a true community. The result is an engagement of students and parents in positive experiences outside the classroom and during school hours by sponsoring diverse educational and social activities and programs. Parents in SABIS^® schools automatically become members of the Parent Connection/Network.

The Parent Connection/Network at each SABIS^® school typically adopts four school-wide goals (arranged alphabetically):

Facilitate communication between parents and administration
Provide a structure for parent volunteering activities
Provide more interaction among parents
Provide more social, cultural and developmental opportunities for students

Another powerful communication tool is the SABIS^® Web Parent website, which allows parents of SABIS^® school students to access essential details about their child's school life. Parents can view the complete picture of their child's performance - academics, behavior, Student Life participation, attendance - on Web Parent at their own convenience. It also provides families with school news, events and calendars. Parents who enroll in this optional service receive a confidential user name and password.
