Testimonials

It was a great visit. I hope you are terribly proud of that school. We saw the SABIS® educational system working on all cylinders... In the rooms we visited, across the grades, we saw consistently strong instruction delivered by able teachers who are deeply committed to the SABIS® methods, to the school, and to each other. We also saw perfect behavior throughout the day. We were amazed by the longevity of teachers there--several we met had been there nearly since the school opened--unheard of in charter schools, and persuasive evidence of the unique sustainability and scalability of the model.

I alluded to Student Life in an interview for 2 different things (one for a job, one for a student group at university) and I got into both! This is exciting because freshmen aren’t usually so special. Thought you should know that people are quite interested in Student Life!

I have been working for the SABIS® network in various positions for 9 years. I have appreciated the education provided by SABIS® to students not only as a member of the staff but also as a parent. As an educator I enjoy the challenges, I appreciate the philosophy of the company (education above profit), and I feel that I am a member of a big family who shares experiences and takes very careful steps in the direction of the benefit of the school community.

ISR Students Receive Award for Academic Initiative Project

ISR Students Receive Award for Academic Initiative Project

Two Grade 12 students at the ISR Internationale Schule am Rhein in Neuss (ISR) were recently awarded the 3rd place prize in the Second Annual Westdeutsche Zeitung Schulpreis, an award program open to all schools and students in the Rhein-Kreis Neuss region of Germany, which recognizes innovative student and teacher projects. The winning projects were selected based on dedication, creativity, and ingenuity.

Saina Klein and Christopher Brill, with the help of their classmates, earned the award for their academic support project entitled “Schüler helfen Schülern,” meaning “Students Helping Students.” The project, which has been implemented for the last six months, aims to provide underprivileged students in the Rhein-Kreis Neuss area after-school tutoring, a service that would otherwise be unaffordable by their parents. “Saina’s project emphasizes the important civic values that are promoted alongside the academics in the SABIS® Educational System,” commented ISR School Director, Eileen Lyons. “Social awareness expands one’s horizon and therefore develops solid character.”

The volunteer initiative is held every Saturday, when eager pupils from the region meet with ISR Upper Secondary students for academic support lessons in English and German. ISR students have organized each Saturday lesson to be able to serve students of any age or grade level. The project is flourishing, with students in neighboring towns offering their services to teach as well. “ISR is supportive of Saina and her classmates’ dedication and is impressed by the smooth and successful course their project has taken,” praised one of ISR teachers. “This outreach project has enabled them to take a large step towards self-development and life preparation.” In addition, through their recognition by Westdeutsche Zeitung Schulpreis, these students will gain a more competitive edge when seeking admission to top universities.

A member of the SABIS® School Network, ISR currently serves students in Kindergarten through Grade 12 and provides them with a high-quality education experience that helps them become responsible world-class citizens.
