Testimonials

It was a great visit. I hope you are terribly proud of that school. We saw the SABIS® educational system working on all cylinders... In the rooms we visited, across the grades, we saw consistently strong instruction delivered by able teachers who are deeply committed to the SABIS® methods, to the school, and to each other. We also saw perfect behavior throughout the day. We were amazed by the longevity of teachers there--several we met had been there nearly since the school opened--unheard of in charter schools, and persuasive evidence of the unique sustainability and scalability of the model.

I alluded to Student Life in an interview for 2 different things (one for a job, one for a student group at university) and I got into both! This is exciting because freshmen aren’t usually so special. Thought you should know that people are quite interested in Student Life!

I have been working for the SABIS® network in various positions for 9 years. I have appreciated the education provided by SABIS® to students not only as a member of the staff but also as a parent. As an educator I enjoy the challenges, I appreciate the philosophy of the company (education above profit), and I feel that I am a member of a big family who shares experiences and takes very careful steps in the direction of the benefit of the school community.

HCCS Celebrates Four Years of Success

HCCS Celebrates Four Years of Success

On February 13, 2009 Holyoke Community Charter School, a member of the SABIS® School Network, celebrated four exciting, challenging, and successful years of operation with faculty, parents and Board of Trustees  The celebration was a way to share the growth of HCCS since its inception in 2005 and acknowledge the major contributors to that growth, most notably staff and parents. For that purpose, a video clip showing HCCS path from 2005 to 2009 was presented to the audience.

During the celebration, Dr. Correa Pope, School Director, thanked parents because they believed that HCCS/SABIS® Educational Systems could offer the quality education that the children in the community needed and deserved.  “We know that it must have been a difficult choice to place your child in a school that had no history and ask your children to start over with a new school, new teachers, a new curriculum, and new friends.  We thank you for giving HCCS a chance, we thank you for viewing your child’s education as a priority, and we thank you for setting the bar for parents to come!” stated Dr. Pope.

The important role that the staff played to break new grounds in the education of the city of Holyoke was also highly emphasized during the evening. “Thank you because I understand that working in the educational field can be stressful at times, but we know that it is also a field that brings lots of satisfaction! We acknowledge that when you chose to become a teacher you understood that it is you who made the conscious choice of making a difference in the future of our children,” concluded Dr. Pope.

The 102 guests walked away impressed with the animated presentation and memorable celebration. “I look forward to more celebrations like this,” commented Elaine Singh, HCCS Parent.

Ever since HCCS became part of the global SABIS® School Network, which is comprised of schools in 15 countries and educates more than 47,000 students, it has been providing a top-quality education to the Holyoke community. The SABIS® Educational System implemented at HCCS prepares all students for success in college, fosters a lifelong interest in learning, and develops responsible world-class citizens.
