Testimonials

It was a great visit. I hope you are terribly proud of that school. We saw the SABIS® educational system working on all cylinders... In the rooms we visited, across the grades, we saw consistently strong instruction delivered by able teachers who are deeply committed to the SABIS® methods, to the school, and to each other. We also saw perfect behavior throughout the day. We were amazed by the longevity of teachers there--several we met had been there nearly since the school opened--unheard of in charter schools, and persuasive evidence of the unique sustainability and scalability of the model.

I alluded to Student Life in an interview for 2 different things (one for a job, one for a student group at university) and I got into both! This is exciting because freshmen aren’t usually so special. Thought you should know that people are quite interested in Student Life!

I have been working for the SABIS® network in various positions for 9 years. I have appreciated the education provided by SABIS® to students not only as a member of the staff but also as a parent. As an educator I enjoy the challenges, I appreciate the philosophy of the company (education above profit), and I feel that I am a member of a big family who shares experiences and takes very careful steps in the direction of the benefit of the school community.

ISF Students Showcase their Skills

ISF Students Showcase their Skills in Mathematics

Again this year ISF Internationale Schule Frankfurt-Rhein-Main (ISF) students took up the challenge to enter the annual mathematics competition held on March 14. Organized by The International Schools Mathematics Teachers Foundation (ISMTF), formerly run through ECIS, the challenging and prestigious competition is open to all international schools. It operates on four levels, each named after a famous mathematician: Agnesi League (for ages 10 -12); Leibniz League (13-14); Ramanujan League (15-16) and Polya League (17-18).

ISF’s student turnout for the competition was strong with over 90 participating in the competition which took place on a Saturday. Their results were also strong.

In order to qualify for a certificate, a student must answer at least twelve or more questions correctly out of eighteen, and ISF results were as follows: In the Leibniz League, 21 out of 43 students passed and many of them scored 17 or higher!  In the Ramanujan League, 40 students participated and 22 scored twelve or higher. In the Polya League, four students participated.

The noticeable aspect about the results is that many of the students sat for exams meant for students in one or two grade levels higher.  For example, many of Grade 7 students, who are only 11 years old, sat for exams for 12-14 year-olds.

This level of participation and success is a powerful testimony to the efficiency of the SABIS® Educational System in its emphasis on math as a college-preparatory subject that determines future learning and plays an important role in future career opportunities. It is also an acknowledgement of the dedication of ISF students and staff in the Mathematics Department, as well as to the parents of ISF students for supporting their studies and encouraging them to sacrifice a Saturday morning to compete.

ISF Internationale Schule Frankfurt-Rhein-Main (ISF) is a private, full-day school serving students from kindergarten through the 13th grade.  As a member of the SABIS® School Network, ISF implements the SABIS® Educational System, which offers its students the rigorous, internationally-oriented, college-preparatory curriculum that prepares students for success in college and beyond.
