I am a parent of a 4th grader, Jordan who has attended ISM since preschool. ISM is certainly part of our family. As a parent it is the neatest experience to walk through the school and realize that almost every teacher knows your child by name. As a parent this tells me that she can turn to any adult at and get what she needs. THAT IS AMAZING. It also speaks to the high level of commitment the staff and teachers have at ISM.

Now that I am at university, I've realized how much ISF paid off in the long-run and I want to thank you and all my teachers for what they have done for me. It was certainly a struggle with many worries to receive my high school diploma and AP's; nevertheless, almost 30 credits saving me 2 semesters at university really made me appreciate the effort it took to achieve these goals. In addition, I was extremely well prepared for college level work by ISF and so far got very good grades in all courses I took, which almost suprised me considering I was one of the students that had to study hard to achieve good grades in high school. Again, thank you and all other teachers that have taught me for their effort and influence on me!

It was a great visit. I hope you are terribly proud of that school. We saw the SABIS® educational system working on all cylinders... In the rooms we visited, across the grades, we saw consistently strong instruction delivered by able teachers who are deeply committed to the SABIS® methods, to the school, and to each other. We also saw perfect behavior throughout the day. We were amazed by the longevity of teachers there--several we met had been there nearly since the school opened--unheard of in charter schools, and persuasive evidence of the unique sustainability and scalability of the model.

History

The story of SABIS® dates back to 1886 when the International School of Choueifat was founded in the village of Choueifat, a suburb of Beirut, Lebanon. There, the founders Reverend Tanios Saad and Ms. Louisa Proctor brought together their vision, dedication, and ambition to provide basic education for Lebanese girls. Soon thereafter, the school became co-educational in response to market demand.

Despite two world wars, The International School of Choueifat continued to grow over the years and embarked upon an expansion program outside Lebanon in the mid-1970s. The expansion was met with substantial success, which is currently reflected in a well-reputed global network consisting of schools in 15 countries with over 56,000 students and 4,500 employees.

Roots in the 19th century have provided SABIS® with a solid foundation in the world of global education management. Today, the SABIS® School Network is managed by a knowledgeable team of skilled individuals and overseen by two regional corporate offices located in Beirut, Lebanon and Minnesota, USA.

In Eden Prairie, Minnesota, SABIS® operations in the US, Europe, and the Far East are run by SABIS® Educational Systems, INC. Established in 1985, SABIS® Educational Systems, INC. owns the exclusive rights in North America, South America, and Europe to the SABIS® Edge™ Education Program, a system at the forefront of global education. Following its incorporation, SABIS® Educational Systems, INC. established a range of schools starting in the private sector and expanding into the public sector. In 1995, the first of SABIS®'s U.S. charter schools was established in Springfield, Massachusetts. Functioning with a Board of Directors contracting with SABIS® for the day-to-day management and organization of the charter school, the SABIS® International Charter School (SICS) in Springfield set the bar for achievement in SABIS® charter schools to come.

In the US, SABIS® Educational Systems, INC. currently operates eight charter schools (Arizona, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Michigan, Ohio), two licensed schools (New York), and one private school (Minnesota). In Europe, it operates three private schools (Germany, UK) and one licensed school (Romania).
