Testimonials

I want to express my appreciation for all ISC-Cairo has done. For the first time, I feel that my child really likes going to school. He wakes up early and now fulfills his promise to his teacher by attending the morning assembly line and completing all assigned homework. I am really happy and I cannot believe that with a bit of encouragement he would change. Thank you all for your cooperation and for taking the time to listen and find a solution. Thank you so much and I wish you all the best.

I don’t have to look far to know how successful the SABIS® system is. My daughter, Sevan, graduated from ISC-Dubai in 2006 and she enrolled in McGill University at the age of 17, as a second-year student given her AP credits. She graduated in 2009, with first-class honors, from the computer science program, with a minor in philosophy - just two months short of her twentieth birthday. Currently, she is working on her master’s thesis after finishing all required coursework. All this and she is not yet 21! She was brought up in the Choueifat system which taught the students to not only excel but to be leaders.

I believe there are few places like the International School of Choueifat-Erbil in Kurdistan. I have enjoyed the international environment and the opportunity to work hard and immediately see the results. We are doing very important development work in this school, and it has been very satisfying for me personally to be part of the Iraqi nation-building on a different level.

ISC-Erbil Concert Draws Record Attendance

ISC-Erbil Concert Draws Record Attendance

On June 3, 2010, students in grades 2 through 9 from the International School of Choueifat-Erbil (ISC-Erbil) in Kurdistan put on a Spring Concert for friends and family. Similar to the Spring Concert that KG1 and Grade 1 students performed there in April, these students enjoyed the opportunity to display their dance and musical talents.

Dressed in colorful costumes that matched their songs’ theme, the primary level students entertained the audience with performances that included choreographed dancing and singing to popular children’s songs.  The ninth grade students brought something unique to the concert as well and showcased a cappella renditions of well-known songs. “The concert was very lively as the parents in the audience clapped their hands in rhythm to the songs and danced along,” commented an ISC-Erbil school administrator.

“Given that the annual concerts are much-anticipated by students, staff, parents and the community, a record number of people attended this one despite high temperatures,” said an ISC-Erbil Teacher. In fact, there were approximately 700 people in the audience, which consisted of parents and members of the ISC-Erbil community, plus noteworthy guests such as Kurdish government ministers and dignitaries, SABIS® Regional Director, Mr. Salah Ayche, and SABIS® Operations Director-Higher Education, Dr. Zahi Ramadan.

Praising the students’ performance, Dr. Ramadan said, “The concert was a joy to my eyes and ears and I enjoyed every minute of the show.” He added, “SABIS®, true to its tradition and mission, is giving these students not only an education, but an experience filled with creativity, knowledge, and life skills to build upon during their time in college and beyond.”

Student participation in extracurricular activities is a key part of the SABIS® Educational System and is carefully planned and implemented through the Student Life Organization® to foster self-development, teamwork, and the exploration of a wide range of interests. Having demonstrated that they have a broad range of abilities and experiences and that they can be effective and valuable creative collaborators, students become strong candidates at top universities around the world.

ISC-Erbil currently serves more than 1000 students in K-9 and is one of two private schools managed by SABIS® in Kurdistan. ISC-Erbil contributes to raising the standard of education and rebuilding the nation by providing a solid foundation of knowledge, skills, and experiences.
