Testimonials

I want to express my appreciation for all ISC-Cairo has done. For the first time, I feel that my child really likes going to school. He wakes up early and now fulfills his promise to his teacher by attending the morning assembly line and completing all assigned homework. I am really happy and I cannot believe that with a bit of encouragement he would change. Thank you all for your cooperation and for taking the time to listen and find a solution. Thank you so much and I wish you all the best.

I don’t have to look far to know how successful the SABIS® system is. My daughter, Sevan, graduated from ISC-Dubai in 2006 and she enrolled in McGill University at the age of 17, as a second-year student given her AP credits. She graduated in 2009, with first-class honors, from the computer science program, with a minor in philosophy - just two months short of her twentieth birthday. Currently, she is working on her master’s thesis after finishing all required coursework. All this and she is not yet 21! She was brought up in the Choueifat system which taught the students to not only excel but to be leaders.

I believe there are few places like the International School of Choueifat-Erbil in Kurdistan. I have enjoyed the international environment and the opportunity to work hard and immediately see the results. We are doing very important development work in this school, and it has been very satisfying for me personally to be part of the Iraqi nation-building on a different level.

ISC-Erbil Holds Annual Spring Concert

ISC-Erbil Holds Annual Spring Concert

Dressed as flowers, lady bugs, bumble bees and animals, KG1 and Grade 1 students from the International School of Choueifat-Erbil (ISC-Erbil) put on a festive performance for parents and guests marking the school’s Annual Spring Concert. Held on April 15, 2010, the concert had special meaning as it was dedicated to mothers. “The students sang songs that praised mothers and it was no surprise to see some of them get teary-eyed and emotional,” stated ISC-Erbil director, Dr. Humaira Bokhari. “The mothers and guests in the audience were all touched by this very heart-warming show.”

A well-coordinated dance kicked off the concert, where students pliéd and pirouetted across the stage. Following the dance performance, students took the stage to sing popular songs. “This was a much anticipated event at ISC-Erbil, where parents like me finally saw the product of our children’s dedication and hard work in preparing for the show,” stated an ISC-Erbil parent.

With the auditorium near full capacity, the students captivated the more than 400 parents and guests who were in attendance.  Among them were Kurdistan’s Minister of Education, Minister of Interior, Minister of Planning, and SABIS® President, Mr. Carl Bistany.

All the students were praised for a successful show and the two hosts, one five- and one six-year-old ISC-Erbil student, were especially recognized for their confidence and poise. “The gracious manner in which all the students conducted themselves throughout the performance may be considered uncommon for children of their age, but not at ISC-Erbil,” commented another ISC-Erbil parent.

Student participation in extracurricular activities is a key part of the SABIS® Educational System and is carefully planned and implemented through SLO® to foster self-development, teamwork, and the exploration of a wide range of interests. Having demonstrated that they have a broad range of abilities and experiences and that they can be effective and valuable creative collaborators, students become strong candidates at top universities around the world.

ISC-Erbil currently serves more than 1000 students in K-9 and is one of two private schools managed by SABIS® in Kurdistan. ISC-Erbil contributes to raising the standard of education and rebuilding the nation by providing a solid foundation of knowledge, skills, and experiences.
