Testimonials

I want to express my appreciation for all ISC-Cairo has done. For the first time, I feel that my child really likes going to school. He wakes up early and now fulfills his promise to his teacher by attending the morning assembly line and completing all assigned homework. I am really happy and I cannot believe that with a bit of encouragement he would change. Thank you all for your cooperation and for taking the time to listen and find a solution. Thank you so much and I wish you all the best.

I don’t have to look far to know how successful the SABIS® system is. My daughter, Sevan, graduated from ISC-Dubai in 2006 and she enrolled in McGill University at the age of 17, as a second-year student given her AP credits. She graduated in 2009, with first-class honors, from the computer science program, with a minor in philosophy - just two months short of her twentieth birthday. Currently, she is working on her master’s thesis after finishing all required coursework. All this and she is not yet 21! She was brought up in the Choueifat system which taught the students to not only excel but to be leaders.

I believe there are few places like the International School of Choueifat-Erbil in Kurdistan. I have enjoyed the international environment and the opportunity to work hard and immediately see the results. We are doing very important development work in this school, and it has been very satisfying for me personally to be part of the Iraqi nation-building on a different level.

ISC-Erbil Organizes SLO™ Mini-Camp

ISC-Erbil Organizes SLO™ Mini-Camp

On February 19, 2010, the SABIS Student Life Organization® at the International School of Choueifat-Erbil organized their first two-day SLO™ mini-camp for students. Twenty-five eager students participated in the event conducted by the SABIS® Student Life Consultant, Mr. Roger Soweid.

The students engaged in activities revolving around the 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens, the Power of Positive Thinking, the FISH! Philosophy®, and many more thought-provoking topics.  “I learned so much, not only about what Mr. Soweid taught us, but about life and the people around me,” said one of the participants.  “It added and optimized everything I’ve learned so far at ISC-Erbil.  It encouraged and inspired me.” Another participant commented, “The mini-camp was one of the best experiences I had throughout my four years at ISC-Erbil.” “It taught us ways to become better members of society and reinforced what we have learned at Choueifat.”

An integral part of the SABIS® Educational System, the Student Life Organization fosters self-development, strong leadership skills, and attributes that prepare students for college and beyond. Having demonstrated that they have a broad range of abilities and experiences and that they can be effective and valuable team players, students become strong candidates at top universities around the world.

“I want ISC-Erbil students to be exposed to more formal team work, critical thinking skills, and also to understand the qualities that develop good leadership skills,” commented ISC-Erbil Student Life Coordinator. “With the help of this training camp, I hope students will better understand the importance of SLO™ and their role in the day-to-day life not only on campus but everywhere else as well.”

A member of the SABIS® School Network, ISC-Erbil recently celebrated the achievement of reaching the 1000 student mark, a growth that reflects the school’s successful implementation of the SABIS® Educational System.
